Summer Storm Season

June 26, 2012

There is a Tornado watch currently in our area and it made me think that it may be time to do a little preparing in case a tornado does touch down and we do end up with a power outage that lasts more than a few days.

What exactly is the difference between a “tornado watch” and a “tornado warning”?
Tornado Watch
Tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. Review and discuss your emergency plans, and check supplies and your safe room. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Acting early helps to save lives!
Tornado Warning
A tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar. Tornado warnings indicate imminent danger to life and property. Go immediately under ground to a basement, storm cellar or an interior room (closet, hallway or bathroom).
Getting prepared:

Do you have a safe room?  Do you know what do you do if you get caught outdoors?  These questions are answered in this downloadable PDF from the Red Cross.

Another thing to think about is having the right foods on hand in an emergency.  Peanut Butter is a great staple to have on hand as well as canned food – just don’t forget the can opener.

Great Blog with foods to have on hand here:

Another thing to keep in mind is having some way to occupy your time – playing cards, board games and instruments are fun ways to keep you and your family entertained.

Dawgs on Blog?

January 31, 2011

Welcome to the official Dawgs Footwear blog!

Dawgs Footwear designs, manufactures and delivers durable, lightweight footwear to customers who desire a shoe that guarantees comfort in every step. Our design and shoe science teams are constantly working to create fresh, fashionable footwear products for new and existing audiences across the globe.

As for why we finally decided to hop like lemmings onto the blogging bandwagon, I am sure it has something to do with our need to share important foot care facts with Dawgs fans. It may also have something to do with our long-winded writers running out of room on other social media platforms              (read: Twitter).

The official Dawgs Footwear Blog will provide readers with tidbits of helpful information related to foot care, shoe science and new Dawgs products, likely fragmented with completely irrelevant (yet entertaining) worldly facts.
